my boss just told me she thinks I must be a very lonely person.
I sign up to work almost every holiday because my family is pretty far and I would have to take off a whole weekend to see them and I just know thats not happening so I just accept it volunteer to work so someone who have plans doesn’t have to.
Today when I got to work my boss says, “You volunteer every holiday. You must be a very lonely person. I would send you home because we some how managed to be a little over staffed today but I think if you weren’t working you would realize how lonely you are.”
Then she handed me my assignment and walked away.
So I am the lonely guy at the hospital who works on holidays. I am that guy.
